Wong Yuk Shan graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in Chinese Language and Literature. She mainly focuses on Chinese Ink Painting in XieYi (寫意) category, which quests after the complexity of rationality and emotions in human nature by combining the undemonstrative and expressive in XieYi. She creates artworks with western painting (watercolour, oil painting, etc.), as well as calligraphy and video. Wong is concerned with the “Human” issue by exploring the commonality of humanity in several aspects: ways of seeing, human behaviour interpretation, and mentation. She probes into feminist topics, which are based on her own experiences from a female perspective.
